If you live in or around Park City, you already know: this mountain town isn’t just home to world-class skiing, it’s also a mecca for mountain biking. From smooth single track to rugged switchbacks, our team at Tall Pines Construction spends a big part of our free time on two wheels.
These Park City bike trails aren’t just about the workouts; they’re where we clear our minds, find inspiration, and stay connected to the incredible landscape where we live and work.
Here are a few of our favorite local rides, straight from the Tall Pines team.
WOW Trail: Epic Views and Flowing Turns
Trail type: Singletrack
Distance: 11.4 miles
Difficulty: Intermediate
The Wasatch Over Wasatch Trail, commonly known as the WOW Trail, lives up to its name. It’s fast, fun, and full of sweeping views that remind us why we love living and building in the Wasatch. While this trail can be ridden both ways, many mountain bikers prefer riding from north to south as it provides a mostly downhill course. This point-to-point route runs from the top of Guardsman Pass into Midway and delivers nearly 12 miles of descent through pine forests and open meadows.
Local tip: Ride early to catch the morning light cutting through the aspens. It’s incredible!
Dutch Hollow: The Daily Ride
Trail type: Singletrack
Distance: The full trail system offers over 20 miles of riding
Difficulty: Beginner to Advanced
“My daily rides are usually in Dutch Hollow. Up Happy Camper, Phosphate, The Face, and around.” – Garrett Strong, Tall Pines Owner
Located just outside of Heber City, Dutch Hollow is our go-to network for after-work spins and quick training rides. With loops that range from beginner-friendly to advanced, this trail system allows riders to choose their own adventure when it comes to difficulty. When it comes to distance, the trail system offers over 20 miles of riding, with most segments ranging from 1.5 to 3 miles. This makes it easy for riders to link trails and choose their distance without having to commit to a full day in the saddle.
Local insight: You’ll often run into other builders, designers, and locals unwinding after a day’s work, proof that Park City’s outdoor lifestyle runs deep.
The Full Coyote Loop: Fall Color Magic
Trail type: Singletrack
Distance: 20 miles round-trip
Difficulty: Advanced
“I really love the Full Coyote Loop in the fall. The leaves on the backside are tremendous, it feels like you’re riding through a wave of color.” – Garrett Strong, Tall Pines Owner
The Coyote Loop is a rite of passage for local riders. This classic Heber Valley mountain bike trail offers rolling terrain, punchy climbs, and spectacular views of Jordanelle throughout the entire season, but come autumn, this trail transforms into something extraordinary. Golden aspens and fiery maples wrap the backside of the trail in color, creating an experience that feels surreal. With 20 miles of riding and over 2,000 feet of elevation gain, this trail is considered advanced, though most of the riding is considered intermediate.
Local tip: Pack a camera. You’ll want to stop at least once to take it all in.
